Why you love and hate IT?

This weekend I read an interesting post about why you should love IT, there are 8 reasons to hate IT but 8 reasons to love IT. An interesting extract is here:

The challenge in front of us is to create a future where the capacity to innovate isn't limited by the size or shape of the IT organization. Next time, we'll address the question, "If we could build a new IT operating model from scratch, what would it look like?"

Well, I commented this post because I believe that is a communication problem, here is my comment:

People hate and love IT at the same time, why? well it's like a little boy that hate oatmeal in the morning's breakfast but he loves how good is for his growth... the question is: all boys know how good is oatmeal? all people know how good is IT for their business?
The problem here is communication. People have to know how IT projects support core processes aligned to business strategy, the challenge is how to communicate them, otherwise nobody knows by who works.
